So do I! We'll have to see about this Christmas...have you received any orders from my little ole town of Lincoln, IL.? Come on, you can tell me! ------------------ Brent Tidaback, Member #234 BNSF Railfan-to-the Max and a N-Scaler to boot! Ship it on the Route of The Roadrunners! Alan & all, My 89' and 60' flatcars arrived! They look great(and I haven't even put them together yet). OK, all you procrastinators out there, let's help Alan stay in and expand his business. He is filling a niche in the market that is sorely needed, and he even takes suggestions and puts them to use. Just my humble opinion of course. Thanks!!! ------------------ Rod v. B. Thanks for the comments, Rod (Why do I have you down as George?) I have not had time to finish my own 89 footers yet! ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.alancurtismodels.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery

quote:
Originally posted by StickyMonk: I dont think there will be any problems with the 28 footers as there is at least one other company who has the same type of 28' pups as UPS called RPS so they are just Parcel trailers

Alan, Let me know if you need some photos of the RPS pups....they have a warehouse facility right beside ours! ( I guess I could accidentally take the wrong driveway one morning while I have my camera in hand ) FYI, RPS has been bought/absorbed by FedEx; they are now known as "FedEx Ground" The FedEx lettering is green instead of red, although I think they have mostly only relettered their delivery trucks and few if any trailers. Yes, Harold I would love some pics, if you could take the 'diversion' The RPS trailers look better than UPS, anyway ------------------ Alan Curtis. Moderator. Member #12 The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.alancurtismodels.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery
I have finished mine now and they're on the track. They are painted-up and lettered as a drawbar-connected TTEX "Long Runner". Looks great! The center, over-the-drawbar trailer rides great on my 22" curves, but the trailer's wheels had to be adjusted out slightly so they clear the rubrails on the curves. I used Microscale #60-747 mostly, but made my own black & white landing gear safety stripes by copying the red & white stripes from #60-579 onto blank decal paper (I painted the white first). I did this because B&W is more correct for a "Triple 53". Russ
Pleased to hear of the cars running Russ It is a bit of a disappointment that the 'Long Runner' decal sheet does not include the Black and white stripes, only the red and white ones for the 'triple 57'. Also that the 89ft sheet is Trailer Train only. I see from my decal sheets and instructions what you mean about lack of information as to lettering positions for both sides of the cars. I made semi-educated guesses ------------------ Alan Curtis. Moderator. Alan, I'm looking forward to getting some of the flatcars & UPS pups and trailers. I am curious are the trailers going to be metal as well? There was a mfgr in Arizona called Arrowhead Scale Models who did 28' parcel trailers in N scale, but I don't know if they are still in business. They were cast in resin and came 3 to a pack, they used track nails for the landing gear! They didn't have decals. They also had a parcel transfer building that came with a delivery van as well as a 28' pup trailer. I want to model Rio Grande's Rail Blazer which carried lots of parcel trailers over Soldier Summit, Utah. Cheers 2slim
Hello 2slim, welcome to trainboard The trailers will be in resin, with the wheels, landing gear, etc. in metal. (The landing gear will NOT be nails) They will be supplied in packs of probably three, but no decals will be included, as several are readily available. (I have already acquired a stock of "Yellow" decals in readiness) !! Stay tuned to my website, for details of production. ------------------ Alan Curtis. Moderator. Thanks Alan...saw them on your site, glad you could use them I did notice, however, that the link is gone off that page again tonight. I figure you're either updating it or there's some kind of intermittent glitch going on. (shortly after this post, it reappeared again) Russ [This message has been edited by tehachapifan (edited 21 December 2000).]
