Long before I ever thought about building the fictitious Pacific Electric branch from Los Angeles west to Playa Desnuda, I purchased a bunch of Woodland Scenics deciduous tree kits that are perfect for Southern California. Before posting this, I watched their videos and it only said to use their Hob-E-Tac glue and dipping the tree in foam after waiting 15 minutes. I then googled that glue, and discovered that it really doesn't hold up. I am looking to make them look a lot more realistic, and I was wondering if anyone has painting and assembly tips?
There are some very good "how-to" videos on YouTube. I have found some very interesting techniques for making water, etc. Surely there are some also for trees?
MC Fujiwara did a nice tutorial on making trees about 5 years ago. They can be found on his YouTube channel (not sure which of his threads, here, have the links). He starts with making the trunks, etc., but you can switch to the foliage parts.
