Being driven moreso by instinct, an ER staffer did indeed find that her cat had hitched a 30+ mile ride in her car's engine compartment one frosty morning... he survived... sooty and prolly less a few brain cells, but survived.

Um, I don't quite know what to say about that one but the old Humble Pie video is COOL! They had hair, I had hair, it was a different time.(y) Still got the "Smokin'" LP.

Here in the Neenah/Menasha - Appleton area we see a lot of dogs out in the yards.

I was on a train from Lang Yard (DTL/GTW/CN) in Toledo once, heard an animal crying while we were building our train. Didn't see it or think twice. Took the train to Willard (CSX) and heard the same cries when I got off the engine. It was a tiny kitten, and it rode on top of a traction motor the whole way. Long story short, I took him home. Named him Chessie. Was a great cat.

That's heart warming Rick, well done. Glad Chessie kept warm on top of the traction motor.

Unless my new eye sight is failing me. I see four cats in the picture. Looking for a warm spot. Guessing there is a hole in the back of the number board where there used to be electrical access. Now a kitty access. You got to love cat's.

It could also be that the number board door is unlatched on the opposite side and there is an opening between the two boxes large enough for the cat to crawl through.
