I saw the news today and in altoona pa the 7th street bridge that go's over the ns mainline will be replaced in april. I was woundering if anyone else heard about this and how the railroad traffic will be affected? will they detor the rail over the NBER??? or is there a better way to detor around this? I asume that they will do a detor but I am not sure where.

    thanks

I remember reading somewhere about how the bridge over Amtrak's "Keystone Corridor" at Gap PA got replaced. It was done at night with VERY little interference with AMTK operations. The biggest hurdle was dealing with the catenary.

I'd imagine this wouldn't create problems for long. Maybe one afternoon.

the problem is that they are talking about closing that bridge for about 3 months. I wonder what this means for the RR both NS and amtrak.
