Peirce, nice photos! Your site is becoming a great advertisement for the New York Central. Are the Metro North FL-9s now on display at Danbury?
I just put a couple of 4449 photos on my site, one by Steve Brown of her all black paint job on recent BNSF specials, and one that Brian Wowak edited on photo shop to show her in REAL BNSF colors. [IMG]
You should post on the New York Central thread.

I agree the DRM has become heavy with NYC paint. This is a little strange since our heritage is New Haven RR. Our yard is the former NH Danbury yard and our building is the former Danbury Union Station which served the NH and the Housatanic.

All the units with NYC colors are owned by someone else, not the DRM. The Alco FPA4, FPB4 and the EMD E9 are owned by an individual who lives in Texas. (We are fortunate he leaves his "toys" in our yard.) The one FL9 (number 2013) in our yard is owned by Metro North. It can't be moved out at this time because it needs repairs. There has been talk that it might be donated to the museum. However, at this time, it is just that. There is nothing even close to official on it.

I would guess, and this is just my opinion, that if the DRM gains ownership of this FL9 it might be repainted in NH colors.

Meanwhile, the DRM does own one working Alco RS-1, and is trying to raise enough money to purchase a working RS-11. The RS-11 is thought to be one of the last ones formerly owned by the NHRR still in working condition.

Back to the FL9s - Metro North has a loop around the DRM yard with some storage tracks for their commuter trains. On weekends the train which runs all the way into Grand Centeral Terminal in New York is parked with the power right at our platform. Sometimes that power is FL9s in either MN or NH paint. Other times it is some of that newer stuff.
