On the DCC++ thread here I posted some pictures of cases I designed that you can print out that will hold Arduino Uno's and Mega's with or without shields. I also have a case (not shown) for the the Raspberry Pi and another case that will hold a Mega and a Pi together in the same case. It can be used as a DCC Command Station running DCC++ EX that the guys here have been implementing but could be use for other projects that require a Mega and a Pi. Here is a link to that thread and I'll have more up on my web site soon.... https://www.trainboard.com/highball...ino-uno-mega-pi-and-mega-dcc-ex-cases.136322/ Sumner
I got the cases done and up on my site and on thingiverse.com for the.... Arduino Uno Case (one option) ............ .... and a link to it and the print files ( http://1fatgmc.com/RailRoad/3D-Printer-2/page-49.html ). ================================================== The Arduino Mega case (one option)....... .... housing a Elegoo Mega (same as Arduino Mega) and a link to it and the print files ( http://1fatgmc.com/RailRoad/3D-Printer-2/page-50.html ). ================================================== The Raspberry Pi (one option)..... ... and a link to it and the print files ( http://1fatgmc.com/RailRoad/3D-Printer-2/page-51.html ). ================================================== and the Mega and Pi together......... ....which can make a good and very inexpensive DCC Command Station running DCC++EX. Also in the case is a Raspberry Pi computer running JMRI. All for well under $100 if you have a monitor, keyboard and mouse laying around or buy a used monitor cheap and a new wireless mouse/keyboard for under $35. A link to it and the print files ( http://1fatgmc.com/RailRoad/3D-Printer-2/page-52.html ). With the case someone can have a DCC++EX Command Station that looks somewhat like a commercial unit. Setting one of these up is not like building a kit and pretty darn easy with what the guys ( HERE ) have done. You don't need to understand much of anything about the components. It is almost a plug-n-play unit and with the help available from them it is well within the reach of most modelers. Sumner
These are great, kinda wish I had seen this before I spent a weekend designing and printing my own. One thing I forgot to add to mine was a reset button, so some modifications are needed!
