    Not quite. N scale is 0.54375 the size of HO. As a result, you need 26"×52" to properly translate a 4'×8' HO layout into N scale and those extra inches can matter.

    A couple photos of my half completed 2 x 4 layout with Unitrack. Because of the tight radius curves I only run small locos such as the RS-2, NW2 and 40 foot freight cars. I can run larger but it doesn't look as good so I'm happy to make the tradeoff. If I were building it over I would probably make it 26 x 48 just to give a little extra space on the edges.

    Very nice! I went a little wider on my first layout for just that reason, but was shorter than 4' because I didn't have the space. Looks like a fun way to run some trains.

    Here is my simple 2 x 4 layout, that I am still changing the track layout every so often. Excuse the bad picture and paint job on the track side building. Did it years ago and have to fix it :)

    I also have a second 2 x 4 that makes and L shape, but it is usually under the bed :)

    Haven't runs trains in month's until last night. Weird kind of interested now that the holidays are over. Would think it would be the other way around.

    I am just building a 2x4 foot layout so am looking here for track plans. Just no room for anything bigger. I am into logging RR stuff. Have a new never run Atlas Shay, and am getting a resin climax A kit from standbys. Logging cars are short so am thinking maybe a 2-6-0 as well as the logging locks. It's the plan and turnout size I'm worried about.

    Pilotdude;
    I love your layout, gives a guy some running time. Mind if I try and duplicate it? Appreciate the photo and track plan.
