The poor Katy and MoPac unit have no terminal to call their own, so they don't get much if any TLC.

I would think that the North Little Shop would lay claim to the MoPac Unit? Not sure about where the Katy Unit would call home.

I R cornfussled about this, the other Heritage Units belong to certain areas? I thought tehy all based out of the same places that the other UP 70s based from.

It's not so much a home base as it is/was captive service. Up until just recently the D&RGW unit was forever on the MNYPU/MPUNY. The CNW unit is usually found doing something out of Proviso, often with the 2 unpatched -9's. The SP unit use to be on the ZLCBR/ZBRLC quite a bit or on a train on a similar route. The WP unit is often found working between Roseville and Roper, even the Bush unit was captive to the Ft. Worth area. However, the Katy and MoPac units since new have roamed the system and haven't been based where some ex-MP or MKT employees might care about them a little bit.

The DRGW unit was in Houston a couple of days ago.

The heritage units are starting to show their age. I took some photos of the MP, Katy and Bush units near Navasota in December of 2005. It's hard to believe that was almost five years ago.

There are more on the RAILFAN page of my website www.CandLGW.com
