On this day, October 29th, 1856, the Barclay Railroad was officially opened. Barclay Railroad was constucted to haul Barclay Mtn coal from the foot of an inclined plane at Barclay Station, Bradford County Pa, to Towanda Pa, approximately 14 miles away..
