    Ethanol tank cars?

Hard to believe that thirty five years ago this was weeks from abandonment. Now it is CWR and trains like this one. Wow.

The CRANDIC knows how to resurrect a mainline. And to top it off, the Iowa Interstate knows how to make a train with help from the CRANDIC.

IAIS leases this line from the CRANDIC and has track rights. Not only the Rock lives, so does the MILW. ;)

Very cool. (literally!) Good to know a part of the Rock and the MILW lives on today.

Wow. Lot of freight, lot of power. Just want to confirm from somebody - the boxes and hoppers in the first half, those are spacers between different cargoes in the tanks?

The first half was local mixed freight from Cedar Rapids with buffers in between the tanks==total of 75 cars. The last half were 80 empty grain hoppers. Total 155 cars. The three Iowa Interstate units were online. The three NS units were dead in tow. The trio of NS units were part of the PECR(Peoria-Cedar Rapids) coal train that came in to Cedar Rapids earlier that morning.
