Looking at one of the Next Station Will Be series yesterday, I discovered something neat. The first photo was taken outside of the Erie's Jersey City terminal in about 1910 and upon seeing the advertisement for Drake College in the picture, I remembered a very old wooden ruler I found in my mother's things and kept. Sure enough, it's from Drake College.
Love the picture, so much to look at! I have driven through Lordsburg many times on I10 but never got off the freeway. Had to go to Google Maps to see what has changed and was surprised to see some of the buildings standing like the hotel and Hidalgo Texaco. The rail yard is smaller but there is still a lot of train action. Thanks again for posting the picture.
That building did attract my eye in the original photo. Cool - even Google goes railfanning once in a while!
