$1000 container?

This is an AUCTION and if its true worth would be determined by the bidders. If it indeed sparked a bidding war which ended up in a four-figure winning bid, so be it, no argument there. But to set a starting bid so unrealistically high for a small block of hollow plastic just begs for ridicule.

No, I'm not jealous. If I were to have stumbled across something in a flea market only to try and turn around and sell it for $1000 I wouldn't be telling my potential buyers that. I would just say I have this thing I would like to sell and maybe give a little bit of the backstory, e.g., it was given at a dinner blah blah blah to employees blah blah blah its a limited edition blah blah blah only so many were made blah blah blah.

He can say whatever he wants. I am just saying that in the same position I would have done otherwise, and I certainly would have picked something other than the mattress pad on my bed for a backdrop. Jiminy Christmas!

 

You have no idea how he came across it, no more than I do. OBVIOUSLY, he did give a backstory on the item, if you took the time to read the link he provided, (I did) and was impressed by it. AS for the background for hte item, I have no problems with it, it does not distract from the item, which he obviously wanted to direct your attention to....looks like he did..sheesh...don't be hatin'!!

 

I'm not hating. I don't think anything I am saying is getting through. I have other topics to browse.

This person has 100% feedback which is all from sellers. No buyers.
He is a buyer not a seller.
His picture is out of focus.
The description and listing is hard to follow.
He touts PWRS which has a somewhat sketchy track record.
His other listings have very high prices.

This invites comments.
Let's have fun with it. No need to attack others over this guys listing. He has a right to list whatever he wants at whatever price he wants.
We have a right to comment on it however we want.

I have finally figured it out.

CC Runner is actually the seller Wazzdis with the $1000.00 container.

It all makes sense now.

Below is Wazzdis E Bay auction text along with another out of focus picture.

"This is for a complete 48+ car CP coal train. All cars are redone, with aftermarket FLOOD coal loads, meaning the cars look like they just got loaded, coal settles into the car as it travles, but when it is first loaded, it sits fairly high in the car, thus, the "flood" term. This is a GREAT set, beautiful train, runs great. All cars have extra weight added to them ,for better tracking and no stringlining, and if you want, I have several custom done one-off CP Kato engines to complete the train. Thanks for looking, happy bidding.
Also, I need to say that this train DOES come with an operating EOT on the rear car also. Almost all of my unit trains have one....All cars have different numbers, but I added a few later because I like LONG trains, and I figured that at N Scale, anyone trying to read the numbers might not notice. AS I said this train looks great, tracks well, had I kept it longer, I might have added metal wheels to it. If it does not sell, I still might. Again, thanks for looking."

This thread was dying a natural death until CC Trains/Wazzdis started flaming other posters who really weren't attacking him. That sure got my radar up.

The weekend is over. I hope this thread provided entertainment to all who read it. Time to move on to other things.
