Don't think this video version has been on here before. If it has sorry. Couple of R rated scenes which surpised me but I thought were funny.Thought I throw that comment in just incase it bothers some https://www.youtube.com/embed/ACkmg3Y64_s?rel=0
There are many other videos of this marvel on YouTube. I am in awe of the airport side of things (sacrilege?) . But even in this video, there are a lot of ideas for scene animation that we could do in N. BarstowRick, be sure to add this to the posthumous bucket list. Still, the temptation is great just to go over there and live in the building dumpster. The techs that work there must have leftover pizza, no?
I know it was HO but growing up in the 1980's and not much in Model RR magazines on Nscale you learn to convert to N scale what you see,try to anyway.
It's on the bucket list and yes after lunch today there will be leftover pizza. I know where you've been visiting. Thanks, come on back anytime.
The airport portion is pure fascination, it truly is amazing to watch...and there are some trains running there too, frequent fuel runs to the JP-8 fuel farm and ICE trains running to the underground airport station. You can actually use Google Street view on the layout too...truly amazing! https://www.google.com/maps/about/behind-the-scenes/streetview/treks/miniatur-wunderland/#sections
I've seen a number of videos of that layout, going back to Tracks Ahead on PBS. It's an amazing layout for sure, but I see it more as a commercial display and tourist attraction then a true model railroad. Maybe it's a weird way to think of it, but I just see a model railroad as something done as a hobby and not as a tourist attraction.
