    I guess it had to happen eventually. Diesel power is being tested on the LM&B. As the steam wears out and is retired, it may be the choice management will make for replacement.

    As part of the evaluation process, they used the new fangled diesel on the ore empties to Phoenix.

    Well, it's better that it's new-fangled. The ones with the old fangles were pretty maintenance-intensive. You never knew when a fangle would give out.:D

    The intruder does have side rods. Does that make it an honorary steam engine.

    To be properly called an honorary steam engine, it needs to at least be Alco-powered.;)
