    Hey all..

I was thinking of making a Fantasy Train...
It would be an EMD F-7 Repainted Dark midnight Blue, with a Galaxy paint Job, You know of Stars, Comets and Planets ???

I have the oportunity to get 4 Arnold Passenger Carriages, only problem is they are spearmint green in color, so I was going to do them in the Same Midnight Blue as the Train, but use some Glow in the Dark stars to really Bring it out to be noticed in night time running Do you think it is a Good Idea ??

all the Carriages would have some custom Decals with Starlight express written in yellow or white Running writing >>

Any Advice or Comments are welcomed

Are you planning on making the custom decals? There are a few here than can as well, Nscalesteve is one. Glow in the dark decals? Masking and painting hundreds of tiny stars would take forever....

Sounds like quite the project. Is it your first? You might want to practice on something first.
I am sure it would be very cool looking.

Marklin did a "Starlight Express" set in both HO and Z.... you might go to the 'net or ebay to see if any pictures are posted of what they looked like.... the Marklin website probably doesn't have them because they were released maybe ten years ago...

Yep, But I have the next 40 Years of my life to do it Hemi..

Yes Starlight Express was a Musical..

But calling a Train " The Intergalatic Planetary Quantum and Time Travel Space Explorer" would be an absolute pain to try and fit neatly on the side of a Carriage.. and besides it sounds a little too space age-ish..

And Yes it would be my First Train , But I repainted my Whole Collection of AFX Slot Cars and they turned out great..

It will certainly be unique, and is almost guaranteed to be an attention-getter. You might try making star (etc) stickers out of Scotchlite reflective tape. It might not exactly glow in the dark, but it may be a feasible way of doing things.

I am starting this Project as soon as next week, first will come the Carriages followed by the Loco..
I am thinking of maybe a Steam Loco ??
Does anyone know of a Cheap Steam loco that would be able to pull it ??

Other wise it will be a Model power F-7...
Or possible an Alco Pa-1 ??
I think it is called a Shark nose or something ??
