Kato has now posted the actual model photos, so they should be here soon. Hopefully they sell a lot, so that Kato will finally get going on the NCL (if they haven't already).
those are really nice! kato F units have been around a long time and just get more popular seems like. and affordable.... gotta love 'em...

With a little work, it might just work. It needs the lift lugs up front and a different monad on the nose. But not a bad starting point.
Mine showed up today. Beautiful Locomotives! Hopefully everybody will agree, they will sell out quickly, and Kato will decide NP sells so "let's make that NCL."
Well... I did my part and got both A/B sets. Hopefully we were not the only ones that bought them... Perhaps we could get an idea from other TB members who got these NP models??? Hope to see a new NCL passenger set announced for this holiday season.
Well, nobody else has responded, but I'm SURE that it's because they are so busy enjoying these remarkable new Kato locomotives that they just don't have time to post. Right crew?! CalZ: I'm going to point out something that you overlooked in your post. ANYTIME that Kato releases the NCL will be "holiday season!"
Lol... I just hope I'm around to celebrate that 'holiday season '! The lack of responders is a worry... it could be interpreted as a lack of interest in 'all' Northern Pacific models. That could lead Kato to scrap plans to release an NCL. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

Ummm.... I don't have one of these... Is it available from Kato only... or are there etailers that are showing this available on their website? I just checked the Kato site... this is an HO Scale model... No N scale model shown.
It's still not too late for you to get one. Both. The e-tailers can't be mentioned because they don't advertise here. Search the 'net for "Kato 35-6010". Right - it is an HO model. But, because it hasn't sold out after all these years, Kato may be making the (entirely invalid) assumption that an N scale passenger train in the same paint scheme won't sell well, either.
I hope you're wrong about that. IIRC, Kato had no problem selling out the NP RDCs and the NP Slumbercoach two packs. I still have my NP slumbercoaches waiting for the rest of the NCL to show up!
It has been so many years that we have been asking for that NCL passenger set to be created for N scalers to enjoy. But... there are many requests in that Kato pipeline that they may not get to it in my lifetime. I'm sure we've had many Traiboard modelers who would have bought the set... but are now departed. As time passes on... others will fall by the wayside. I don't know if new modelers will embrace the North Coast Limited in the future. I buy whatever Walthers, Intermountain, Wheels of Time and others have provided... but I'm sure Kato would do the NCL complete and correct at an affordable price.
