Every thing this seller posts is both rare and "optimistically" priced.

Nope, that is an April 2004 release. You ever see a 1987 Kato release & you will never forget it. Had truck mounted Rapido couplers and there was about 15 scale feel between the trucks and each pilot. Head over to Spookshows site and look up the 1987 production GP7.

It's BACK!!! No bids the first time, so now it is "Buy It Now." But, still at the same price. Doesn't it now cost sellers to put things up for sale over-and-over? This time, it is up for a month. Let's see if he reduces the price before the listing ends.

I know quoting myself may be bad form but I saw this 1987 Atlas "Kato" Burlington GP7 that I jsut had to share. Overpriced and "oh that wheelbase" My GP7 got the Aztec frame treatment within a week of me getting it.

I have never quite understood how those even made it out of the factory. I had one of those awful looking Geeps. Did the Aztec frame thing. Then it was plenty good enough for me.

I HAD to have a GP-9 myself and when those were the only game in town...I got the Aztec frame as well. Still have that one somewhere...it's hard to tell the difference from the newer GP-9s once you install the MT conversion.

I think some sellers think that adding the word rare to there listing automatically adds to the value. And lets not forget my favorite description VINTAGE which reality means I do not know any thing about N scale, but it old so it must be valuable.

Yup. Also probably doing a bit of fishing as well. Trying to catch those who can be easily parted from their money.

Problem is that in O scale (Lionel), vintage IS a valuable thing. So is rare for that matter. What sellers don't recognize is that in this day and age, everything in N scale is usually rare (limited run) and vintage is almost always a BAD thing.

I agree most N scale that are old enough to be considered vintage were of poor design and out of scale, ect However when I see a Trix K4 listed as rare I have to wonder what there definition of rare is. They were made from around 1970 to maybe 1999.

I forgot the best description . One seller was listing his N scale as post war (must have borrowed it from O timplate) That is like saying I have a postwar Corvette for sale.
