I was looking at those cool new GATX tank train cars, and instantly thought of how nice they would look on a certain person's layout.
And unfortunately, instead of doing the same two companies as BLMA did, which would be a true second run allowing us to have 48 in the same company name, they have chosen to do two new companies. I'll have to apply the three foot rule, I guess.
Folks -- please adhere to TrainBoard's advertiser retailer policy. Cute indirect asides trying to skirt it are just as wrong as direct mention. Now- back to Jim's wonderful layout thread
I continue with build photos of my Caliente CA Post Office: And yes, I'm lighting it: Getting interesting now. More next week. And coming attractions - putting it in place on the layout - OVER the staging yard!

Continuing with the scratch of the Caliente, CA post office: Some of the details; looking better: And yes, it's lit: Another view: Almost time to put it on the layout! Next week.

There is the post office and the old general store, which is now someone's house.. There was also a car repair place there, but it's been gone for years. I used to railfan up on the curve above Caliente..

First, a test fitting of the mostly complete building onto the terraformed layout: I pulled the building and did some grass work: Parking lot placed and ballasting: Further ground cover work and final placement of building: The wiring's done now - I used automotive style plugs, that way if I ever need to move it I won't destroy it in the process. Tons more to do in terms of weathering and detailing this scene; and I'm itching to get started on the building to the right...
