Up near Buckeye Lake, OH, there is a very little known collection of traction equipment. All of the equipment is owned by a private individual whose intentions for the equipment was to preserve them. Anyway, the equipment has been stored on this property for at least a good 15 years now. However little work was ever performed on the cars, and unfortunately most are not in very good shape. However, something can be said about the individual who owns them as he did have an eye for preserving some now rather rare equipment. I have found a roster of equipment but this is an older roster, so I cannot say how much of this still exists http://www.bera.org/cgi-bin/pnaerc-query.pl?sel_curown=Buckeye Lake Trolley As well as some associated images of some of the equipment.
Oooh, that looks like an eastern version of Fred Kempner's collection of steam locomotives in Merrill, OR.
It's nice to know these items still exist. But sad to know that is only in deteriorating conditon. I fear this is yet another person who speculates on the value of what is rotting away, and nobody but a scrap yard will ever pick these up, after whoever it is passes away.
Personally, I think the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum and other museums should try to get in touch with the owner, landlord, or whoever manages the property and see about buying those cars...
