Sub Bus "termination"

I will have several Mains (all terminated with RC Filters). In addition my current multi-level plan has 25+ Sub Buses running off the various Mains. Layout is HO scale. I am planning on installing Block Detectors and most likely bulbs to highlight shorts.

My question is (and I can't seem to find an answer or picture on this): Do Sub Buses get "terminated" or otherwise in any way or does each Sub Bus wire just "hang there" at the end of its run?

I know there are no stupid questions, but I get the feeling this one might be close...since in my world electrical things don't just end, but complete a circuit...

If the sub bus is not long, termination should not be needed. Long being 25 feet or more.

I have have just put a wire nut on the end of each buss wire, main or sub.
I always thought that the feeders to the track then back to the booster and or command station completes the circuit.
It seems to work that way the same as electrical wiring.

If there is no train in that block, then that wiring run is unterminated. If it is a long run you can have issues, just like the coax tv cable in your house.
