I would like to see them release a 6-5 sleeper for the California Zephyr so I can have a correct consist after 1952...
I ordered a set of IM Western Pacific FTs that were cancelled. If there's WP FP7s, I'll check them out. I haven't seen the original WP FP7s anywhere.
Still waiting for them to do the E8 in PRR DGLE: http://www.godfatherrails.com/photos/pv.asp?pid=1395
Kato doesn't like the color green... that's why they haven't done any NCL locomotives... LOL Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
At a show several years ago, I mentioned to the Kato rep that they already have the formula for the PRR green paint - it's the same color as used on the Alco PA , GG1 and EMD F-unit models. The reluctance, thus far, to make the NCL locos (and train) is mystifying.
... Updated P42s... Bolt on nose version... Bring back my SD70s and make some SD75Ms, SD75is, C44-9Ws.... Oh I know, an AEM-7! Or an Acela set... I could literally keep going...
Here's a simple one. Please issue a correct DRGW F3 to pull the CZ. The Grande did NOT have chicken wire grills like they have released on two occasions now. Oh, and while you have the Aspen Gold paint out, how about re-releasing the F7s that were is the train sets years ago?
Agreed on the chicken wire-less F-3's, though I'd like to see the version without the chicken wire between the port holes, but still retaining the wire grilles at the top of the car body. Additionally, I'd like to see Kato do a proper F-9. They did the F-2 after all!
Speaking of locos for the CZ, Kato has yet to make the PA and/or F-units in these black and gold paint schemes: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/rail/donald_beneke/diesel/ddrgw03.html http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/rail/donald_beneke/diesel/ddrgw21.html
Surprised nobody has mentioned the Mikado mechanism for rerun, either as the original USRA Heavy or with different shells. Something with a high headlight would be different enough from what is currently available. I would love to see a B&O Q4 with Vandy tender, but would settle for a USRA Light Mikado with the headlight moved to the high position, where B&O moved them on the ones they bought.
Kato's best models are their well thought out passenger train consists with cab style diesel locomotives, steam locomotives or electric locomotives. I really don't find their hood units that appealing. So I will continue to ask for the NORTHERN PACIFIC ... NORTH COAST LIMITED... prototypical passenger consist.
Amtrak Surfliner Cars and/or California Cars, and Horizon Fleet as well. C'mon Kato, you're on a roll with this Amtrak thing.
I second this request. I've also sent the request to Kato last year and probably the year before that.
Amtrak California cars would be great. It would complement the Athearn F59 just announced in that paint scheme. I could even justify it on my module. While being delivered after a rebuild in Oct 2012, the brakes locked up and CDTX 2006 had to be setout at Upton (near Mt. Shasta, CA). My 7 year old son actually saw it parked there while we drove down the interstate. I thought he was joking as the spur at Upton probably hasn't seen a passenger locomotive in 40+ years. Here's my shot of it that night.
I'll go for a really long shot and hope for a N&W Class J with a matching 1949 Powhatan Arrow train consist behind it.
