Does anyone have any plans they like for 12'x18" in HO?

I've seen a couple I like that are 12'x2', but I have ADA compliance issues that keep me from using the additional 6".

Noting ADA, this must be for a club or other public display?

Yep yep. Some members have expressed a desire for a switching layout that would be in part of the public access space. I and another club member have thought of ADA, the rest haven't.

If it wasn't for a club I'd suggest building the one Atlas has on the track plans section of their site. It's got a lot of interesting trackage and could look very nice with structures.
This picture on their site doesn't really do it justice though.

There was a better of it in an old Model railroading book. I want to say it was written by sutton?

I like my 12' x 14" chainsaw shelfie. It's an LDE based on CN (ex-EJE) Leithton Sub in Plainfield, Illinois at 143rd St and Van Dyke. I sketched it from Google and trackside so I don't have a publishable plan.

There's a shelfie in MRP 2016 that looks adaptable to your space if you use the ISL leg.

No joking meant: What is ADA ? Can I assume it isn't Attention Deficit Disorder ? If not, what is it ? Also, confused; is the young person in the photos the owner/builder/manager of this switching layout ? Or did his mom or dad build it ? Finally, all the switching moves; who worked these diagrams out ? They're very well done..

Reference to the "ADA" is speaking of the "American's with Disabilities Act".

You could almost leave this one as-is... the key part being you really only need 18" for track access, assuming that the construction will be done by folks who are not "differently abled". Thus, only the rearward tracks on the far left would be outside the 18" access zone...

That's a nice design. I drew up something similar, but without the variable depth.

Sincere apologies over the ADA / ADD terms I'd confused. I hastily read ADA as ADD and posted it.. Anyway, neither is a joke....I am, in fact, ADD and is likely why I posted the mistake way did....Mark

Google your layout dimensions & you'll see a bunch of plans.
