    To make this:

    you might be able to start with a GP60, as such:

    I can quickly see some work to do on the DB housing and radiator area, which shouldn't be too bad. The painful part would be if the overall length of the BL is shorter, but I'm not sure about that.

    Looks like a GP9 frame, fuel tank, and air tanks. Should be able to use an Atlas GP or the chassis.

    There is an article in the March 1997 Model Railroader on making one in HO.

    They used the front half of a GP60 from the dynamic break housing forward and the rear half of a GP38-2. For the mechanism a Life-Like GP18 was used.

    The BL20-2 was EMDs attempt at entering the remanufactured four-axle market.

    BL = branch line

    Kitbashing one is either easy or hard, depending on how far in depth you want to go.

    The radiator grill is from a post 77 GP38-2, but the door arrangement (and the doors themselves) are quite unique (they are not the same as the doors on the 38-2).

    The prime mover compartment door arrangement is close to a 38/40-2

    The inertail air intake grill is from a SD40-2, not the grill used on the GP50/60.

    The DB hatch is one of a kind, but closer to a GP59 hatch (sans the extended-range contactors) than a GP60 hatch
