Here we go. Lots of good work going on out there. And FUN too!! I hope everyone else is enjoying this thread as much as I am. Thanks!

I put MT Bettendorf trucks with FVM metal wheels on Atlas wood boxcars. Back dated paint scheme, no Monad herald in the 20's on NP wood boxcars. One has some recently replaced, yet dirty, roof panels.

Here is my entry. 3 Intermountain 2-bay Covered Hoppers decorated for Southdown Cement, with Micro Train 100 ton trucks/couplers. I used cement streak decals from Weathering Solutions, followed by a few of their rattle spray can graffiti decals, then finished off with paint and windshield washer fluid mixed up for a wash solution.

Here is new, out of box.

Here is the entry from the Wilkerson N scalers: my sons Cade and Cort along with mine. They are Micro-Trains 65' log cars with 100-ton trucks.
    1) Cort wanted to show a worn, rusty, dirty log car with recently shopped trucks that have the blue bearing caps (I was excited when he thought up this detail!).
    2) Cade decided to go with a faded car, which is a very common sight after a few decades of use.
    3) For my car, I wanted a rusted look and decided to shave angles on the top of each log bunk and rust them from use.

Here are my group of SOU "claytor" waffle side boxcars. The goal for these were to create a pile of rust but cars that resemble the prototypes and cars that'll fit right on my modern NS layout.

Admin - Here's the before pic that should have been first in my post, instead of the doubled up first two pics. Oooops!

Two days and over 350 views, yet only 20 votes ? Come on people. Trend is continuing from last time (low vote count, same thing happened last contest on TRW also) :(

I think some of that is multiple views. I know I have been in here plenty of times to check the vote tally and see if I might change my mind after looking at the pictures again and again. :D

Yep...that's why I've entered my last contest. Not worth the effort when only a few people vote.

Soldering iron close to the inside to soften then a jewelers screwdriver or point of sheet metal screw to push out.

Maybe adding it to the contest page might drive some more views/votes, instead of just the participants stopping to check in on things ?

OK, I might be strung from a tree for this but I tend to conclude these are popularity contests. I voted for what I thought was the most effective for the era and car type. I will leave it at that.

Is a blind entry available? Meaning, is there a way to add my entry to the contest without anyone knowing it was me. This way they vote on the car or subject without thought of who added it.

I can understand how some folks might vote as you've noted. But sure that's not how I do it.
