According to the Digitrax web site, the DN163A4 is for GP 30 and the DN163 A0 is for the U23B. Is there any difference between the 2 or can you use the same for either engine? thanks, Craig

The DN163A4 is shorter than the DN163A0. The A4 is only for the Atlas GP7, GP9, GP30 and GP35.

The DN163A0 is for countless other Atlas engines.

Thanks for the info, I was wondering if it was a case of one being an improved version of the other.

Different length boards for different locomotives.

    The DN163A1 fits the SD50, SD60, SD60M (Long Chassis)

The DN163A3 is for the MP15

    The DN163A4 is for the GP7, GP9, GP30, GP35 (Short Chassis)

Every other Atlas Locomotive takes the DN163A0 (Medium Chassis)

There is not a DN163A2. This decoder was discontinued after a change was made to the short chassis and it not longer fit.
