Hey guys, I'm looking for a how to ballast video that was posted by a user 4 or 5 years ago. I believe the guy lived in Europe and had a blog dedicated to his layout, but ended up moving and subsequently taking the blog down. I remember another user ended up getting the video and posting a link to it, but I can't find it. Any help would be great as the video was very well done thx Ben
Not sure which one you refer to. There have been a ton of videos on how to ballast. Everyone seems to have their favorite way of doing it. That said...go to YouTube.com and put n scale track ballasting In the search. Lots of videos on the subject
This is a real stretch, but is it possible this was John Sing who had a lot of information posted on ballasting and weathering Kato Unitrack on a rather small n-scale layout. John lives in the US, but traveled internationally a few years ago. He use ATSF as a part of his online name.
Upon further investigation I have a little more info to help find this video. The man that made the video is named Enzo Fortuna and I believe that he was or is a member here on trainboard. He modelled the Sp-coastline and had a blog dedicated to it. I believe he lived in Italy. Any thoughts? Ben
Ben, you are looking for Denny's blog on his sp coast line layout. He was from Italy. His blog and layout are both gone. Enzo had copied Denny's blog and saved it although I don't know where it might be. I think I have it saved in my favorites somewhere. I remember Denny used a medical syringe to wet down and apply glue to his ballest by running the end along each rail to minimize ballast disturbance. I'll see if I can find it. . .
man, I had to go dig through some old emails to find Denny's last name. Denny Turani. Found his SP coast line videos on vimeo. Here's the one you want:
Yep that's the one. I appreciate you finding it. His work in great imo, he really makes it look so simple. Thx again Pastoolio
