Wow can you believe it? We are in the last day of 2015! Seams these years just keep going faster and faster. We better get started, time is flying by!

I want to make this a somewhat special thread so to start your answers of what you plan to do this upcoming long weekend, I want to hear at least 1 New Years Modeling Resolution. Just one, it can be anything from learning more about DCC to finally making a trek to a show many states away. I'll start off:

My goal for 2016 is start a local modular N scale club here in Central Illinois. Yup, it's that simple, well the first part anyway!

Now onto the weekend. Since I have today off, I'll be working for my shop, Wiggin Locomotive Works but before that, I'll be posting about my Galesburg Modules in Dave's 2016 Layout Winter Party at: http://www.trainboard.com/highball/...tional-winter-layout-party.89108/#post-954188 I encourage you all to do the same. It's a tradition here on Trainboard and a great way to get some great "modeling by peer pressure" done. It's real simple. Just stop by and sign up by telling the group a little bit about your layout and what you would like to accomplish on said layout within the next six weeks. Every week, simple post what you have accomplished and check out what your fellow modelers are doing too. Check it out even if you don't have a layout, you'll gain some valuable insight on the many aspects of layout construction.

Friday will be clean up day. Christmas decorations will come down and things will get organized in the house and shop. Saturday, I have the house to myself so I'll be doing more custom paint work and then transition into layout work around mid to late afternoon. Sunday I may go and see this science fiction movie everyone is talking about as well as relax with some more layout work. All in all, I plan to take it easy and recover from the Christmas season.

So how about you? Let us know first what your primary Model Railroad Goal is for 2016, then tell us what you plan to accomplish this long weekend. Until we meet again, I want to wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year filled with exciting opportunities and adventures. Stay safe and...

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    High Greens!

gcav17 has a couple of projects for me here, finish a tender pickup upgrade and then install an econami in another loco, he just hasn't decided which yet. Hopefully NOT the Kato Mike! I guess we will see later on. That is a good way to ring in 2016!!

My plans for the weekend - finish building my Jordan Miniatures 1904 Oldsmobile, and finish the siding on the walls of my Lakeside Inn.

I had a nice long post, then realized I actually had nothing to do this weekend.

This weekend is making a few dozen 10k resistored wheelsets, and then selecting and packing up the trains I will want to run at next weekend's Great Train Show in Richmond, CA.

As for a 2016 resolution, I will really try hard to finally finish up the yard area on the JACALAR

Well I hope to get a whole lot done this year on the layout...

This weekend I hope the family gets the tree down tomorrow while I am out of town. Sunday I want to start building a mountain. Then I need to finish laying some sub roadbed and track. Then back to finishing said mountain. I need to get some scenery done before I get some special visitors.

Already got couplers replaced on a reefer and a DC locomotive today.

The Saucier Central has been dormant for the past 4-5 months, well maybe just the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer. 'Tainy Rate, my grandson gave me a $50 gift certificate to our LHS. Since I have such loving encouragement, I've been surveying the many areas that are kinda empty of scenery, let alone any decent imaginative concept. So, like the Seven Dwarfs sang in the Disney cartoon Snow White...Hi H, Hi Ho, It's Off To Work I Go, 'cept model trains ain't "work", are they.

Stay tuned for future episodes of How The Stomach Rumbles on the Saucier Central N-Scale Forum.

I am gonna try to make and install more tree and brush on the MRR.. I make these things for weeks at a time it seems. Takes a hour or so to put them on the outfit, then they disappear into the scenery. Other than that..
Lets see, I would like to put in a gated xing, and another lit xing, and a few more xings with cross buck protection. OH yea forgot about the signal system.

Yep, I better be happy with just some more trees and shrubs.
