Noah I know, that's the annoying part. However I am going to have trees in front of the back drop so it should blend in nicely.

Finished my first wall of my Field BC depot mock up. Using bristol board and working out all the measurements so when it comes to building it out of styrene going to be an easy process. Let me know what you guys think. I am modelling the prototype as best as possible. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

I'm a big fan of depots. Looking forward to seeing how this model is finished. The stone/brick looks interesting.

That is a distinctive depot to model. I watch with interest.

Thanks guys, it's a signature depot on the CP RAIL transcontinental main line.

Well I haven't done anything trains since July. The bug finally bit me again and I have been busy the last week here and there. This is a preview of what I have been working on. I started with a black wash diluted with isopropyl alcohol to give the base for the granite monoliths you see before you. Yellows, browns, blacks, and rusts to follow to really make them pop. More to come, let me know what you guys think. Any comments or suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks Boxcab. Still have to add the yellows and browns to show the strata and metal deposits in the faces.

Added more colours to the rock cuts. Worked on highlights, strata and metal rust deposits. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

My next trip into the mountains, I need to take some detail photos of rocks, etc. I have not done much at all in that regard.
