I have a switch that leads from the main line to my yard. I wanted to protect it with dwarf signals as its 12 inches from a set of block signals and crossover. My question is how many dwarf signals are needed. I was thinking 3. One for each direction on the main and 1 facing the diverging rout into the yard. Is this right?
If one of the block signals is facing in the correct direction it could be used to protect the switch, then you would only need two dwarfs to protect the other two routes through the switch. If not then three dwarfs would be needed as you have stated.
