We are not going to get into a big business bashing thing here because we do not do that. But, if you have ordered from Oddball Decals and have not received your order, please post here how much your order was for and when you ordered. You do not need to make negative comments in order to report this information. Charlie
Charlie, I'm curious...has something happened to Tom Stolte that has resulted in orders' not being filled? Dieter Zakas
I'm not sure what his situation is. I've heard stories but there are a lot of folks saying they have ordered from him and have not received their product(s) and I just want to know how many such people are out there.
I was told two days ago by the vendor he uses for credit card orders is that he is out of business.. RSS
I was told by Tom himself a few minutes ago that he is still in business. Did not ask if he is having problems with it.
If "in business" means filling orders after people give you money, there are quite a few people whom I have talked to that would dispute that. Charlie
Unfortunately this seems to match what a couple of folks have told me, whom I do trust to be honest sources.
His Alps printer had bit the dust a while ago and he was trying to find a replacement. He just emailed me that
Back in December, elsewhere on the 'Net, it was posted that he'd received his new printer and was ready to start taking orders again. Something is amiss here.
That "My ALPS printer is dead, and I need orders so I can get a new one" line has been used quite a bit by our Mr. Stolte. So far, he has received enough cash to get at least one decent printer and get back into business, but so far not one single decal has been sent, much less printed up. I have heard reports from other forums of the same story- money sent in for orders, no printer working, no decals shipped, no refund offered. I won't go into all the details of some of the posts I have read, but sad to say Oddballs is on the RIP track on a permanent basis. And no, I haven't sent any cash to this guy.
If you look on-line, you can find all sorts of similar quotes from people who called him up. Sent the unit back to Japan for repair, waiting for a new one, all of it. Website last updated July of 2011. Train Liquidators is selling OddBall decals. Dave
Myself and a fellow soldier ordered some decals from him a couple of years ago. I have sinced retired and moved back to NE. We never received our decals and he cashed our checks.
I ordered several decals in March 2013 and have not received anything from Tom. I did email him a couple months into the order and was told his girl friend had the printer and was expected to visit the coming weekend. This did not mean the product would be forthcoming as I still had to wait in line until my turn. My guess is that several turns have passed and that if they aren't here by now, I really shouldn't expect them. I am going to request a refund because he does not need an Alps printer for his checks.
I just tried to email Tom to request a refund and the email was returned as non-deliverable to his email address shown on the website as oddballsdecals@attwb.net.
I also placed an order in January 2013 for $27. Emailed him 6 months later and he said his Alps printer had died and he had shipped it overseas to get fixed. Emailed 6 months later, (1 year total) and was told his printer had been repaired and he was waiting for return and orders would be completed as to when they were received. As of today's date, no decals, emails bouncing.
