I have been away from my train layout for several years and am just getting back to it. No matter what I do, I cannot get the off Line red indicator to turn off and cannot run my DCC engines. I have followed the manual written instruction multiple times, everything seems to work except my ability to communicate with an engine.

Did you check the mode switch - make sure it is in the "Run" position (up)?

@q-trainman : please reply in the thread and not as a profile post

The reply was the switch is in the correct position. Anyone else have any ideas to help our new member?

Unless track power is on you will not be able to communicate with an engine decoder. In other words the engine decoder must have track voltage to operate. Plug your throttle directly into the DCS 100. Press PWR and then press Y. Track power should come on. Press PWR again to return to operating mode. If this does not work let me know and we will go from there.

Okay, That worked but did not seem to be the sequence listed in the manual. Thanks for helping me on what may have seemed to be a dumb question.

Glad to help you get over a bump in the road. No question is dumb, dumb is when you fail to ask and keep beating your head against a wall.
