Here is my issues with setting up routes using my Digitrax system DCS100. I have also set up the OPS Sw to enable the route function, I have also cleared all the routes just in case some was stored (I never used thus function)

I'm trying to set up a crossover using routes as I can not program the same decoder address for the crossover. Both tortoise machines are plugged in to a Digitrax DS52. The decoder addresses are 62 and 63.

I have enter this information (entry 1 route 1 address 62 T) (entry 2 route 1 address 63 T) to my understanding when I exit to function normal mode when I throw switch 62 both tortoise 62 and 63 should throw making the crossover. That does not happen. When I throw switch 62, the turnout 63 throws and nothing else happens. Switch 62 is non functional and I have to go in and clear what was just entered for the routes.

Can someone please help me with this. I don't know why the DS52 will not let me program the same number into the decoder for crossover. I also have no idea why the route function will not work.

If you can ahead some light on this situation that would be very greateful.

    Peace be with you,

    Arthur

Is this a single crossover (two turnouts) or a double crossover (four turnouts). If it's a single, you can run two tortoise switch machines off one DS52 output and you won't need to use the route feature.

As far as the route not working - are you sure you got the "thrown" and "closed" setup correctly on the turnouts? For example, if you tell both turnouts to be thrown but 62 is backwards and already thrown it won't move. Have you setup the "closed" route and tested it (you will need separate routes for thrown and closed)?

Thanks for responding. The crossover is a single (2 turnouts) and are powered by Tortoise machines. When it comes to the route set up I had them set correctly but they will not work. Here's the set up. I had the crossover set to clear (straight thru) when programming. When I programmed the route I programmed the roué to throw (crossover set). Still doesn't work.

Now are you telling me I can wire the Tortoise machines in a single out put? This would solve my issue but will this blow the DS52?
