I have a new, vendor tested OK, Bachmann Pacific N scale locomotive with DCC and sound [not a Spectrum] that just sits on the track with the usual loco waiting sounds. It won't move in either direction. I am using a Digitrax Zephyr 50 DCC controller. The Rampmeter shows 14 volts on the track. My other locomotives, DCC and DC will run on the same track. I tried using address 3, Zero and the locomotive number and none of them works. I had purchased this same model engine a few weeks ago and that one had the same problems so I returned it to the vendor who graciously tested this one before replacing my old one.

I'm not sure where to look next for a solution. BTW the other locos I have tried were the DCC GE 44 ton switcher, a Mikado with DCC and sound and a Big Boy with DCC and sound. I also ran a GP40 DC engine successfully.

Any suggestions are welcomed cause i am stuck :(
    Thanks
    Jerry

Are you talking about the new K4 PRR 4-6-2 Pacific? Or something else with a DCC and sound decoder installed in it? I would reset the decoder, once you figure out what it is.

According to the Bachmann rep at the Bachmann forums, CV8, enter 8. Remove power, connect power. Headlight should blink a few times if it took the reset and run on address 3.
The rep also has mentioned clipping a 1k, 1/4 watt resistor across the the rails when using the Digitrax DCC systems if the decoder is not recognized.

Program a new address and run it.
