Dan , It was great to see you guys again and glad the trip went well. I would guess no problems with that trailer tire with the screw in it. Mike & Robin
Mike it didn't! We got in Weds. Am still having a "jet lag" issue yet. Wouldn't think that two hour difference would happen but thats the only thing i can come up with. I started to lay down track and the logging area was perfect. All the track layed down great like perfect. Then i got to the engine house, and service yard. Nothing fits!! Scarm did it. So i have to tear out all that work for it to hopefully work out. Might have to use 3 tracks for the yard. I will work on it and see what i come up with. Interesting that scarm would be right on till it got to the service yard but that is the way it goes sometimes.
John, Let me get some things done and i can hook up with you. I am trying to work on track and then all the other stuff i need to get done too. Add to that the track works out everywhere but my engine yard so that is driving me nuts. I feel like i have "jet lag". but only 2 hours difference. Don't know whats happening. Lay awake at night and then trying to sleep in all day. Hope i can get this issue fixed in a few days.
I would think if you used the Unitrack pieces that were entered in Scarm that yard should work out ok...JMO Mike Fifer has some great "How To's" on his website. One is making your own lengths of Unitrack... http://www.fiferhobby.com/html/how_to_make_your_own_lengths_o.html The other is making Unitrack flextrack...if things are just a little bit off... http://www.fiferhobby.com/html/how_to_make_kato_unitrack_flex.html
Don't need the flex track. I am using code 55 for the flextrack from the turnout. No, I just ran out of room! I will be working on that but while doing that on the back burner i am hooking up the track that does fit correctly. I know it has to be a Scarm issue. I measured the lengths to see what happened. It shows the right sizes of unitrack, and it says the distance to the edge to the layout so i cannot figure out why it did that at that end of the track. Everything else works and fits perfectly! So, I will just let it be the last part i finish. Kinda makes me want to cut track but i can't cut turnouts so I will have to redo that area. Sucks......
I can't remember how to post pictures here so i will figure it out. I have three ideas as to fix the engine yard. Can do all three of them. The track beside the house is a place for a engine to park while being worked on. The other track is for mow cars.
Came up with one idea that lets me use everything but the cinder dump but have a question. Did they place a cinder dump where they parked an engine? Not finding anything to see what they did. The main issue is that my yard is compacted so much i may have to build a smaller one and put it on the engine parking track. Not very realistic. Have a shot of this idea.
I think i got it!!!! I had a old #6 Right turnout. I dug till i found it and i came up with this!. Now watch SCARM screw it up!!! Then look at the pictures and tell me that SCARM can't screw up bigtime!!! Now, Does this look like i have it done or ??? Come on RR Fans, Let me know, Dan
Yep, I ran one of the engines all over the layout to see if i had any bad places. I found a couple but nothing serious. My 4-6-0 is acting up and i guess i will have to send it back to Bachmann. I may just get me another engine from someone other than Bachmann. Have had too many issues with them. I would like to find another 2-8-0 i think, with dcc, Don't need sound but would love to find a good one. Anyway, I have some scenery kits to build, i have a steam donkey and a spar tree kit to build as well. Have a couple others A company store and a wicked wandas to build so later all, Dan
Been working on a steam donkey. This is day two, And it sits yet for another night. This kit is the hardest one yet. I thought the tram and other kits from Republic loco works were bad.... Maybe tomorrow. I think i am about 1/2 way there. I want to hook up with a fellow friend on this forum. May see if i can hook up with him. Later, Dan
(We made into Deming N. M. Tired Getting dinner and bed time. Have some shots of a old 0-6-0 oil burner and a couple of cars. I don't know how to post from the phone so I will get them to you now). I said photos when i got here but i forgot that post. Shots below, I don't know why but i keep getting error messages when i try to upload a photo. Not sure what gives. Maybe someone could see what is happening?
