The Freight Car America cars that we have been working on were displayed at the NSE Convention in Sacramento two weeks ago. There are some details to be redone, but we do expect these to be available in the Fall this year. 500 5 car units of the Dynastack are now in operation as TTX cars across the US, and some visitors at the Convention showed me pictures of the cars in operation. I have also been told that the lighter weight of the cars allows railroads to add two more 5-car units per train for the same amount of pulling power.

The cars have elaborate pipework running across the lattice sides - there is an etch of the pipework for each car included with the car.

I've been noticing these lately, but didn't know anybody was working on a model. A definite buy for me.

Really excited about getting this unique looking car as a variation to the other stack cars. Peter, you did a great job on these. Looking forward to their release. For those who don't know, the Dynastack is FCA's entry into the double stack market and they have chosen to do a 40' well (2 20's or 1 40') to service the volume of international import/export traffic that looks odd and wastes train length in a 53' well. FCA also has a neat looking single well with a 40' capacity as well.

Peter- do you know if they have a 48' or 53' on the way to expand their line?

When did the prototypes hit the rails? I haven't seen any of these in real life yet.
    The models sure look good!

    Thanks for that.

Has anyone seen these - I am not sure that NOKL or TTX have any of these cars in their inventory - if they have please let me know, as these might make an interesting model for us too!

Not that I am aware of - the Patent drawings are for the 40' only at present. However, if sales go well, and the demand for 53' box consists grows who knows. It would seem, looking at the engineering, that it would not be too problematic to get a 53' car consist using the same principles.

NOKL have had a trial set of these cars on the rails since 2007 in its blue paint scheme. TTX have bought 50 units that started to be delivered since 2013 in the DTTX 763001+ series and are now seen on intermodal consists from the oceanside terminals.

A bit too late for my 1995 timeframe then :). They are very cool nonetheless.

Agreed Dave N, but I may have to give in and keep my other 53' wells so i can run stuff from today and 95....
These look sweet, I have seen them once and they blew my mind!

The cars are now available with TTX decals included. The issue with the previous printing have now been resolved - there was a small, but noticeable registration issue with some of the decals, and these are being reprinted.

We now also have the NOKL decals [printed in white for the NOKL blue paint scheme] available as a separate item, but will need folks to contact me separately as these are not posted on the website yet..
