I have been looking for packages of Atlas accumate couplers for some Atlas engines. They seem to be a little less stressful to install than MT on some engines. However I can not find them anymore even searching the Atlas web site. Have they been discontinued as a separate item?

I'd not think those would be dropped. There are folks who do like them. Maybe they're listed and were somehow missed? Perhaps try calling Atlas' customer service?

The 70 and 100 ton trucks/couplers have all but disappeared as well.

What bothers me is are they trying to clone a good product? No matter how many have complained about the coupler coming apart it is still way above the McHenry and now its clone. When are we going to see just how cheap can we make a product and still get people to buy it? I have seen some McHenry clones and they stink. Bob.

I have many cars with accumate trucks/couplers that need replacement. I'm not bothering to look for replacement accumates. Switching all cars with them to Micro Trains 100 ton truck/coupler sets. I am tired of the wheelsets falling out, Knuckles sticking open and losing trip pins only to have the locos magnets pick them up. Locos will get theirs changed as well.

The point is some of us like them and are looking for them. The thread is not to debate which coupler is better, that has been covered before. I have broke far less accumates than MT couplers,I also like Mt trucks, but assembling accumates seems far easier in some applications. (I do not use trip pins ) Also I am not looking for the trucks just the couplers and draft boxes for some Atlas locomotives.

I have a 30 plus coal train which has micro mates, MT trucks with Atlas Accumates couplers. I have no problems, they were installed due to a steep downgrade on an older layout. They work well, have since about 2005. Bob

I too like the Accumate couplers. Not needing any at present so here's a lead for you GRW1.

And you're right. These babies are harder than heck to come by. I've found that a few suppliers will advertise them but rarely actually have them in stock. If Atlas lists them on their website they've done a damn good job hiding them.

MTL does not make a 100ton truck with coupler, the 1035 is a 70ton truck.

It does not matter to me whether the trucks are 70 ton or 100 ton. They work better than the rest of the crap out there. Nobody carrying a Magnifying glass or Microscope to be able to tell the difference is allowed in my home anyway.
