I recently bought a DB150, but upon inspection there is no battery to change or internal screw adjustment for track voltage.
    Is this an old unit?
    Are they problematic?
Are there any updates that need to be done?

    Thanks

A Digitrax DB 150 that looks like this? uploadfromtaptalk1426370094032.jpg . Mine if fairly old, I don't remember what year I got it. According to the Digitrax site, they're still a current model. If it looks different than mine, and you got it used, it may have been modified.

The left switch on the front of mine is for scale selection, the right side is for run/ops/sleep mode.

Hope this helps. Ask more if you need to.

Thanks for the reply. Yes that is the booster in question. Same switches.

OK then, no batteries to change. It's ready to use when you hook up the right wires in the right places. Did you get a manual with it? It should have a quick setup page, but read the rest of it thoroughly too. I have pages of different Digitrax manuals that are starting to wear thin. I may need to download a copy with much more use of the old one.
Ask more questions if you need to.

Thanks for the offered support David, but I think I may have mislead with my question. On the Digitrax website they state to remove the cover and turn a small set screw to fine tune the output voltage. My unit does not have this feature which makes me think I might have an older unit. The unit seems to work fine but the plug is loose and causes intermittent track power.. I have a couple new ones on the way so will test again once those arrive.

That's my learning something new today. I wasn't aware of the ability to do that. I'll have to go back and read some more, too, I guess. This is, I assume, in regards to your other thread about power supplies. Makes sense.

My two DB100a units do not have the track voltage adjustments either. My DCS100 does have it though. You may have early DB150's

I know the DCS100 has an internal battery that needs to be changed out every so often, this may be true with the DB150. You take off the shell and you should see a battery in a slot with an identical slot that's empty next to it. The idea is you put in the new battery in the empty slot and then remove the old one, easy to do.

You are correct. I have done quite a few as we change them every year in our group. We run a DCS command station and 6 booster districts and all but one are DCS100s. It just did not dawn on me that the DB150 would be any different.
