I need to replace a bunch of these on my layout. Everywhere I look they are out of stock. Anyone know of a shop that sells them (in stock)? I need 6 LH's. I need the later ones with the DCC friendly frog.
I know they cost more than the Atlas switches, but it may be better to use Peco switches. They work better, look better and are available. Just purchase them as you can afford them. Over the last two years my club replaced 30 troublesome Atlas switches with Pecos. We purchased them when we could afford them. We would still be waiting if we stayed with Atlas.
While some folks object to a "European" appearance of Peco switches, once ballasted, such is simply not easy to see. Peco are quality, rock solid.
We got in a large shipment of #6s in the beginning of February and shipped those out, and we got in another shipment last week and are in the process of shipping those. There is no reason you should not be able to find these items anywhere at this point. We have plenty in stock right now to fill additional orders.
The longshoreman work slow down on the west coast has everything delayed coming into the country in containers. The longshoreman came to an agreement and ships are finally coming into port, but the movement is slow because with everything hitting the port all at once, there is a shortage for frames to haul the containers. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon.
Peco code 100 are based on a toy train set geometry and use the same frog angle of 12 degrees for all their offering. They don't have the same footprint of any base frog numbering turnouts, therefore replacing an existing frog numbering turnout will require extensive track work.
This has nothing to do with our shipments. The majority of our shipments arrive at East Coast ports. And, as I mentioned above, the products arrived here in February and March and we have shipped and are shipping to distributors.
