I am always reading about different kinds of track, what looks the most realistic, what can't be purchased currently and so forth. This got me to wondering what people use for their track. Please answer the poll and comment as to why you chose the track you did.

I personally love the code 55 look. I chose Peco over all others because they have the best switches in my opinion and the tie spacing although incorrect for US railroads is "close enough" to make Peco code 55 my choice for track.

I'll be using Peco code 55 on my upcoming layout.

I have used nothing but Peco for the past 30 years, and C55 for most of it. Unfortunately my finger slipped and I marked Peco C80. Is there any way to change my selection?

I like Unitrak because it alows me to jump straight to running. I haven't made the time to build a permanent layout. I don't know what i even want out of one. until then, Unitrak, it is

I have always used atlas code 80 flex and peco switches.
In my opinion code 80 might look like the rails are scale knee high but find it reliable and more forgiving.

I like ME Code 55/40, but I like the Atlas #8 and #10 switches, if ME ever made #10's and #12's I'd be ecstatic.

LOL. I almost posted that part of my Kato choice was that I hadn't designed and wasn't ready to build THE RR (stolen from George), so why use permanent track?

Hey now....my unitrack is permanant. Its glued down and not a single prob with it. I feel for the guys I read posts from that are having track or turnout problems...while I go out and run trains trouble free for hours everyday. :)

I answered for my main home layout (Unitrack), but there are also my FreeMoN modules, which use ME code 55, with hand-laid turnouts

+1 on that. I use code 80 track and Atlas custom turnouts, because I use under table switches also Atlas.

Kato for most track work but Atlas flex track for yards - er, will be when I'm done, (um, I think). :)

What I wanted you to read and what i think I wrote weren't the same, but I hear you on the turnouts. Glad they have a new one, hope they keep expanding the line

I use Atlas code 80 flex. With the shortages of late been using Peco Insulfrog switches. I wish I would have been using them all along.
If I ever rebuild, I will go with Peco code 55 flex.
