What passenger cars would a SP 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler have pulled?

Yeah, it has been years since I have been able to find any. I went ahead and made RTV molds to cast my own in resin. On one of the masters, I shaved the rectangular roof ventilators off and replaced them with "Globe" style ventilators to better represent some of the cars on the SP system. I also improved the contours on the ends a bit. I should really start fresh and build up some new masters and make new molds as these don't quit fit flush on top of the cars.

I assume that you made the globe style vents? I cast my own as well but I bashed my own globe vents on the ones that needed them. I haven't seen the Bachmann passenger cars for awhile so I haven't needed to make any more but still have the molds.

Another option is that Concor used to offer 4 passenger car sets (both heavy weight and streamlined). You can occasionally find them on 'that auction site' fairly cheap. Plan on probably replacing the truck, however, as they don't track or roll as well as they probably should.

I respect your feelings about the negative responses to your first N Scale train. I rant into it when I mis-painted my military miniatures. I'd say the only reason to go for prototype or close to it is because that is what you personally want to the exclusion of what others may think.
Note: Please take what I say with a grain of salt. Given the resources I would paint my bullet trains in CP Red with a 'Multi-Mark' and respectfully ignore any nay-Sayers. But then, that is me and I follow the rule:

This is quite true and all too often people see the upper sash windows (like on the J-n-J sides) and an arched roof and immediately think of "Harriman" cars when they are, the rather, gothic cars (produced by Pullman Car Mfg., Barney & Smith Car Co., Jackson & Sharpe, St. Charles Car Co. and a number of others). Then you have the faux "Harriman" cars (some built for Central of Georgia, Illinois Central and Kansas City Southern, which had, in essence, the same carbody design as the "Common Standard" cars but the underframe included a fishbelly center sill and sometimes even having clerestory roofs. Why they were built like this is not clear but it adds to the variations that would be possible for some roads. The CG even had a "Harriman" carbody design and arch roof used on a business car but the car has a fishbelly center sill, which was not used on true "Harriman" cars.

Well I thought I got lucky when I found 6 Con-Cor “N” 1920-1950-Heavyweight-Passenger-Cars so I ordered all six and then I discovered I ordered the Southern Railway (Crescent Limited) Two Tone Green by mistake. They only had two of the Southern Pacific so I canceled my order.
I’m about ready to give up completely with Southern Pacific and sell what I have except for my SP AC-12 4-8-8-2. So I just need something run with it. I think I'll just have one SP Steamer Passenger consist and that’s it.

Many arched roof cars were delivered to the SP with the upper sash windows. They are clearly shown in some of the SP drawings that I have. Many but not all were plated over in later years. In the photo I posted above of the Bachmann cars, you can see where I plated over the upper windows on the coach to simulate that.

Although this was a wooden car, the Bachmann shorty baggage/coach combine with the stock clerestory roof would make a good stand in. This 1943 photo is of a car that was built by Barney & Smith in 1886 for the San Antonio & Aransas Pass.

Happened upon a pic of an Illinois Central coach that has the "Common Standard" body applied to a fishbelly underframe and thought I should provide the link as an example of what I was speaking about before... i.e.: faux "Harriman" cars...

Nice looking group of cars. I am predisposed to the 'modified daylight colors.'

I think in the past and probably still today there are and were folks who referred to any heavyweight car with a full roof rather than a clerestory roof as a Harriman car when as pointed out here they weren't. On that note a number of roads often purchased or leased surplus cars from other roads to fill their needs. Also passenger cars often came from roads that were absorbed or merged with. Quite possibly a little research on the WWW might just reveal some of those cars in your modeled roads paint and lettering which in turn may broaden your selection among existing cars in N scale that may well be suitable and prototype.

Although baggage/mail cars are not technically "passenger" cars, something like this might be interesting for you:

There is a great article in model railroad hobbyist this month about this. The sunbeam and hustler trains in Texas ran 4-6-2 locos with daylight cars in 1936. The locos has daylight streamlining done tom them as well. Consists were lightweight baggage cat, standalone chair car, articulated chair cars, parlor. And a diner-lounge observation car.

However, they eventually added a heavyweight RPO/Baggage to that consist.

Since Bachmann wisely offered its ten wheeler with a long distance tender, I think a train with plenty of Pullman sleepers
    would be logical.

I have the Kato Southern Pacific "Morning Daylight" Passenger Car set. I bought it years ago as a Pre-Order set, but have yet to pull them out of the box. I don’t have the loco to pull it. I guess I should look into that this year.
Anyway I really like the Con-Cor Southern Pacific 1930s Heavyweight 6-Car Set with Micro-Trains Couplers, but I’m confused as to the availability. I see them as Pre-Order and I know they were already released and shipped. So does that mean they are really being re-released or does that mean the vender hasn’t updated their web page? If so then I will go ahead and pre-order them.

Don't believe ANYTHING on the Concor website! They NEVER EVER seem to update it and when they do it's usually wrong. Best thing to do is to call them on the phone and ask. They seem to be very technologically challenged by the internet and email. Want an example? The N scale UP turbines that STILL haven't been released are 'coming back in late 2013!'. That update was after I contacted them in Jan 2014 to ask about availability since the previous listing said 'coming back in 2011'. They updated it with the 2013 release in Jan 2014. Sorry about that, you hit a sore spot. Bottom line, call them and ask.

Thanks, I was wondering about that after I ordered the wrong set of heavy weight Passenger cars and the only response I can get is auto generated emails. I don't get home from work until after they close in AZ and I just can't call any earlier. I'm off today so I will have to call them today to make sure my order is cancled, but I really want that 6 car set of SPs and I plan on asking about that as well.
