Hi last post I did was about tennessee pass too. just want a list of what symbols used to go over Tennessee Pass in the 90's before it was abandoned. Thanks And have a merry Christmas and a happy new year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can't supply much information about the 1990's after SP took over. I do know they went to "alpha's" from the D&RGW numbers. Such as the D&RGW #77 from Pueblo to SLC (Roper) would be the PUROM, M for manifest. I hope someone else can provide what you need.
I'll try to ask around at work. Most of the engineers I work with are former Rio Grande/Southern Pacific hands. I gotta be subtle though... don't wanna give up my "closet foamer" alter ego.
Just tell 'em it's a request from a historical researcher. I wonder if they have some interesting stories to tell? Might be a great opportunity to hear a few tales?
There was an exhaustive list of train numbers posted here as a pdf file. Search for coal train symbols or numbers. It's a good resource.
These might be useful links...
