Nice looking but a little steep price wise. Just my humble opinion

Were these close to BN TEBU's?

I would like a couple of these, though I will second the steep price (humble opinion) especially the amount of work sanding, patching and filling that needs to be done to get the final model. But it could just be me. Will have to see what the good elves bring me for Christmas. these

Hopefully the HO price isn't that steep, as I would love one.

Well, this is designed to be a model for hard-core SP modelers, especially considering that these are not available elsewhere, and I can assure you that they will not be around in any better form in the near future.

The BN had 6-axle units rebuilt from SD9 units that had cabs, so no. This unit is 4-axle, built on GE parts, and lacks a cab. So no.

I would love to make the HO one cheaper, but unfortunately the material cost will be higher due to a larger size. We shall see what happens.

    Best,
    David

I have a coupon for you guys to use at checkout for the entire site. The code is TEBU2014, and it is for 10% off. It expires on December 25th at 11:59 pm, so hurry!

And, for you UP modelers, I am sure you haven't seen this:

See this thread for details on how you can use our kit to build one of these units: http://www.nscale.net/forums/showthread.php?35867-Sp-tebu!!!&p=403580#post403580

Even UP can't get it right, two different yellows on the one unit!

Thanks for the Christmas offer David.

I'm looking forward to seeing the unit and getting to work on a UPY version.

Also waiting to see how the GENSET's come out since I don't believe any manufacturer will be tackling these any time soon in N.

    Cheers,
    Brian

P.S. Need to check the link in your signature. It's not going to your homepage anymore.

Thanks man for the order! Please, please, please make a build thread here on TB and send me a PM with a link to it... I am so excited to see this unit in UP colors.

The Genset is waiting on paint and decals, as well as some brass design. I am working on that, but I also have a competing SD80ACe model for Australia to do, I have an order for 40 of them. I will see what I can do to get the genset going.

    Best Regards,
    David Cutting

    N and HO TEBU Updates!

We know how much you guys have loved the N scale TEBU, and we have received so much positive feedback over the last few months that we decided it was time for a new roadname.

Pre-production Model Shown, production models feature wire handrails and grab irons.

Our latest roadname for the N Scale M-K TEBU, Union Pacific, is now available from our website at www.cescalemodels.com under the tab "N Scale". The model features crisp painting and detailing with fine wire grab irons and handrails, and prototype-specific lettering. Get yours today in kit (new version for UP detailing) or RTR form! We are limiting RTR production to 5 units each of two road numbers, and they won't last long!

    Happy Modeling!
