I have tried Hornby England, Europe, USA, Walthers, no success, only a pass the buck from Hornby England.

Decided to go through my spare parts stash and found some universal sets, not in packaging, so not sure what they are, tried one and it fit the Rivarossi gear perfectly, there were T pieces, so I looked further and found I had some 2mm steel drive shaft rod (from an Aussie company), so I have been able to fabricate a new universal to suit, now I just have to work out reinstalling 403 SMD's (if that's the right terminology?) and resistance to suit, as I am not going through the main board, just directional on DC.

I may be of some help to you. I had run into a problem with my Allegheny when I was running it on the club layout I belong to. A side rod bolt had come loose and fell out and we could not find it to save our lives. I looked around on ebay but could find anything close. I contacted Hornby America and spoke with a gentlemen by the name of Arvids. He was very helpful and understanding, even so much that he not only sent me the bolt I needed for free, but a whole complete siderod and bolt set! Needless to say I was very pleased. His contact info is arvids.breikss@hornby.us and his phone number is 877 358 6405 ext 114. There are in the state of Washington which is on the west coast here in the states, in the pacific time zone. Like I said, he was very helpful and hooked me up! Hopefully this helps you out as well.
