Hello all , While this is not a train toy , it should better the way I share my work and layout. Just got a refurbished Sony Handycam CX230 and this is the first test with video and still shots. I gotta say , this is the best tool I have purchased in a LOOOOONNNNG time. Mike
My impressions, it does a better than just decent job with depth of field and seems to maintain focus quite well. Should do you well!
Very nice camera that brings out even more of the fine details of your layout. I look forward to more videos.
Test shots look great Mike So let me ask....Where did you by it ? Local camera shop ? FeeBay? Walmart? Amazon???? I am in need of a new video camera and I like the crisp video your new one takes. TIA
I'm watching the video and I'm thinking, "When did Mike switch to HO?" Like George, I'm looking to get a video camera for my various hobbies.
Thanks so much to all of you guys who are really my inspiration. George , I bought it on FeeBay as a manufactures refurbished for about $150.00. Thanks guys , Mike
thnxs Mike... I dont do feebay...but searched for it on Amazon...may have to talk to the CFO about getting one...
Mike, I think you have a keeper or winner, for sure, in that camera. I agree the depth of field looks good and yes I think it shows more of your detail work than your Nikon did. Nice vid. I have a Sony handycam HC30 that I have had for several years now and does not come close to the quality of your shots. I guess the technology has passed up my old one. C
And plays Santa Claus for the kids almost every year. Humm, reminds me I need to get the reindeer $#!+ from last year cleaned off my suit. Never mind they can't hold anything until we land. More fun to spray old Santa down. Kind of like the old passenger cars from yesteryear. Don't hang your head out of the window when someone is occupying the bathroom. That ain't steam condensation from the locomotive. Well LOL enough potty talk. Mike, I like that camera. I especially enjoyed the helicopter ride. Noted no sound of the blades. Nice camera. Yes, I thought I had pull with Santa, nope, I just work for him. How about super macro. Can you get in close to the details and count the rivets. Grin. :teeth: LOL
New camera gives nice sharp footage. Perhaps needs a tripod for zoomed in shots? Zoomed out hand-held looks fine. Layout is very impressive, I am struggling to believe it is n gauge! Your trees look fantastic, what/how are they made? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thanks , Robin is getting me a new tripod for Christmas, and the trees are from TreeDad on Feebay. Thanks , Mike
