Spent Thanksgiving at my parents house, and while we were there I was tasked with dragging my old LGB out of the attic so it can go in my own attic. While getting stuff down I wondered if anyone made or makes an N scale version of the famous LGB Stainz 0-4-0 locomotive. A preliminary search came up empty. I thought it would be neat to have a tribute on my current layout to the first train set I ever had.

The n-scale 0-4-0 that I recall is a Dock sider. Possibly from Bachmann ages ago.
Not like the one you mention.
There was also a 0-4-0 with slope tender from Atlas.

I don't recall ever seeing or hearing of something similar in N scale.

Very close! Apparently it is a Krauss narrow gauge locomotive, and the LGB version is modeled after a particular loco in that batch of four, named Stainz.

MinitrainS has some neat little lokeys in HOn30. Essentially N scale with a larger cab and a few details.

That's it! My Christmas tree train begins. Of course I've blown 2014's modeling budget so it'll be Christmas 2015, but hey.

Just google after Fleischmann Lok 7 in N-scale and you will find one

And when you google after Ibertren you'll find the 3rd 0-4-0 from Europe.
