Hi folks, I'm wondering if anyone knows of people/businesses who make custom LED setups? I prefer to support a TB member if you have the skills. I need a battery powered setup with 9 red LEDs that flash in unison. It will be used for a 48" tall laser cut wooden Eiffel tower model I have - 4 on each level plus one at the top. Couple questions... 1)Do you want all the LEDs to blink at the same time(think you do, but, just want to make sure)? 2) what size LEDs were you thinking of? 3) Do you need it to have very small diameter wire, so, you can hide them easily? 4) If one has to make a small circuit board, do you have a place to hide/attach it to/for the model? John Flash: Yes - would like all 9 to flash simultaneously LED size: Not picky, just enough to be seen - think 'eye catcher' for a vendor booth at a train show... Power can also be 3v or 6v too - longest duration is preferred Wire size: Just not too huge - I can hide them pretty easily since it's mainly a wood model. LED's will be at the corners - routed under each of the 2 platforms/observation decks, and then up the inside of the tower to the next level. Since it's made from only 3mm thick wood, I can make holes where I need the wire to be routed. Circuit board hiding: Yes, plenty of areas to hide one. 48" version is on the right

Hi Mike - You can drive 9 ordinary LEDs with a 555 chip and a handful of resistors and capacitors. Total cost around $5. A Google search will turn up dozens of suitable circuit designs. - Jeff
That is what I was going to suggest. I built a little 555 timer board in the 1980s when I was twelve. It is a battery/battery holder(AA) with a switch, and a circuit board with a 555 timer chip and socket, a capacitor, and a couple resistors. It runs a single LED(red). I made it to simulate an EOT/FRED. Back then, there were no kits for an EOT/FRED like there are today. Not too hard to make... I could walk you through it. JMS
