I have a variety of Pennsy passenger and freight locomotives that I am now considering adding the trainphone antennae to. While Gold Medal Models offers antennae post parts, I could really use a do it yourself step by step guide in putting the trainphone antennae together and how to mount it on the respective locomotive(s). Can anybody post the appropriate links? Thanks

There is no how to out there on line to attach to attennas as far as I know, by experience if you solder pre-tin the wire and the mounts before you put the mounts on the shell. Use the smallest soldering iron you can get your hands on.
I'm attaching some drawings of antenna mounts for a few engines,
A good article was in the Keystone Modeler a few issues ago on mounting antennas on EP 22 (a HO E-8)
    Hope it helps

Perhaps partially helpful, Dave Vollmer has an article on his website on mounting the antenna on a GP-9 here. Some good general info, and maybe with a bit more poking around you can find specifics on layouts. He does at least show a decent photo at the bottom with a number of finished products.

I start with good quality photos to determine where to put the posts (and which posts to use). If I'm feeling really confident, I glue the posts in place and then solder the wire to them, otherwise I make a jig to help me solder the posts in the right places before attaching the completed assembly to the loco.

As well as the GMM set, there is also the Bowser set for doing cabins.
