    I just learned that George W. Hilton, author of American Narrow Gauge Railroads passed away. ANGR remains both a guide and inspiration to me.

    I recognize his name, but I do not recall ever reading that book. I wonder how difficult it might be to locate a copy? I'm guessing it was published some time ago?

    Shows available hard and soft cover on Amazon. Searching by name produces a lot of interesting looking titles.

    Sad to hear of his passing. I have a few of his books and think they are all outstanding.

    American Narrow Gauge Railroads is like the bible of American narrow gauge and explains why the narrow gauge boom happened in the first place. It lists nearly every narrow gauge common carrier in the United States. I see occasionally see copies of ANGR at train shows, many overpriced, but sometimes you can get one for a reasonable price. Used copies paperback are available on Amazon.
