Does any body make delta trailing truck side frames. I have used trix K4s in the past,I just sanded the delta and the original side frame down and glued them on. Is there a easier way. I have bid on some non running K4s on the bay,but they can go for big money sometimes. Can not find MP parts on the MRC site for there deltas. other suggestions. Thanks RGW
Model Power had delta trailing trucks. I had bought some. They don't come with wheels sets so you have to add your own. You might call them and they may still have some.
Will anyone answer, if a call is placed to Model Power? They closed their doors back in April of this year. Perhaps try placing a Wanted ad in our Swap Meet section.
Go thru the MRC site. Check last night and the MP site is down. Check the MRC site, MP is shown, but nothing is listed.
What I need is just the side frames. I just sand down the detail on the existing trailing truck and the new side frame and glue the delta side frame over the top. This way there is not mods to the truck mounting,it does not look quite as nice as the whole delta but is much easier.
I phoned MRC about this. They tell me that they will not be offering the Model Power parts for sale until at least mid October, and they do not know what parts they will have. So we just have to wait until then to see what happens. I hope that they just inventory what MP had in their facility and sell it off, but who knows what they will do.
I'll bet this is something that James "Shapeways" Norris could crank out in about 10 seconds, lol. Oh, James! Cheers, -Mark
You may want to look at Bachmann parts. I believe the 2-10-2 has a delta trailing truck and I am not sure which if any of their other steam models may have the same.
I have the DM&IR 2-10-2 and want to add delta trailing truck to it. All of the photos of late era DM&IR 2-10-2s that I have seen have deltas. I do not think any Bachmann N scale steam with Delta trucks.
I have found two other sources for delta trailing trucks. The old Arnold 4-6-2 ( thanks to spook shows site) but they get a lot of money on ebay for them. The other is the Del Prado display K4, but most on ebay are from other countries and with shipping would cost $25 or more.( I know, non working engine I would just cut and sand it to fit over old truck) So for now I will just keep looking and biding on junk Trix K4s and may be make a mold of the side frame this time.
Bmann calls the trailing truck for the HO model of the 2-10-2 a Delta and just assuming the N version of it would be the same however I don't have a clear enough picture of the N version to tell. I will try to get to my parts boxes later today and see what I have because when I bashed a 4-4-2 I needed a delta and I believe I had one more in the box.
I looked on the Bachmann site they used a older non delta on the N scale 2-10-2s,same as the Hvy/lt 4-8-2s. However they had a delta on the HO.
They do not have the Delta trucks. If you want a new wheel for a Mountain, as I did one wheel was off center, they send you the entire trailing truck. Wish I had known that before I grafted the MP Delta sideframes onto a reworked plastic truck assembly I constructed, to only find out it's too lightweight, and bounces all over. Now I have to see if I can un-CA the sideframes, and them attach them to the metal Bachmann truck.....which I should have done from the get go. You can contact Matt at FVM too. The Hiawatha Atlantic has Delta trailing trucks. I found it to be too big for what I needed unfortunately.
Hi Guys, I can do it if you want? It may take a little longer than Mark's predicted 10 seconds but not to long, especially if you only want the side frames and not a whole truck assembly. I am not sure what the Delta trucks look like with out some research but if you want to send me some images or links to some images it will make the process a lot quicker. You can send me stuff through TB or directly to Jamestrainparts@yahoo.co.uk Just out of interest, I have just finished a truck assembly today for a dummy Alco C-628... - James

Just got the GHQ delta side frame in the mail from republic locomotive works. They look great,I will post picture when I am done Thanks for all the help RGW
I just finished, but the arm that connects to the frame looks too big and hangs down to far it almost touches the rail head.I will need to file this down.
