I am starting this thread to highlight all of the latest products that CESM is bringing out in N scale... let's get started with the latest, which happens to be our GP38-2 radiator grilles. Happy Modeling! David Cutting
Our latest product is this set of GP38-2 radiator grilles. The grilles convert atlas/kato/life-like GP38-2 shells with chicken wire or split radiators to a GP38-2 with a single louvered radiator on each side. The grilles are currently in beta, so we would ask if you order these that you post photos both here and on our shapeways site. They are available on our shapeways shop (http://shpws.me/vu0r) as 10 packs (5 locomotives) for $24.99 Next up: Modern EMD Blowers! Happy Modeling! David Cutting
Next up is this angled blower housing. They are modelled after the last type of EMD blower housings found on GP40-2's, SD40-2's, GP50's, SD60's, SD60's, GP60's, and SD60M's. They can also be found on many rebuilt locomotives. This part simply glues onto the side of the locomotive. These are brand-new, so if you order them we would ask that you post images on this forum and on our shapeways shop. These are now available on our shapeways shop (http://shpws.me/vu3M) in 5 packs for $14.99 Next up: N Scale Pilbara Cabs! Happy Modeling! David Cutting
Next up is our N Scale version of the popular pilbara cab. This cab is based on exact scale drawings of the prototype. These new models are scaled-down versions of our popular HO scale version with modified wall thickness so that they can be printed and handled well. These are now available on our shapeways shop (http://shpws.me/vu66) as single cabs for $19.99 each. Next up: Alco Hi-ad truck sideframes! Happy Modeling! David Cutting
Next up is an N scale blower housing... ribbed EMD style. This one is based on a kato GP38-2 shell. It should be a good piece for you scratchbuilders and kitbashers. The brand-new pieces are based on a Kato GP38-2 shell. They are now available on our shapeways shop (http://shpws.me/vuiR) as a five pack for $16.99. We haven't forgotten the Alco Hi-Ad trucks, we are just waiting on reference material. Next up: It's a surprise! (Or rather, it is a TBD) Happy Modeling! David Cutting
Would not mind seeing the extended exhausts MoPac applied to many GP's produced. An example is here: http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/mp/mp2022asp.jpg
Yah... how 'bout those ATSF ALCO switcher stacks... modelers re going to need the correct part to fix the Atlas and Bachmann ALCO switchers.
Just got a model mocked up in HO, does this look correct? It has a raised pad to show where the screen would go, and a second pad on the underside of the top. I put in two planes to show where mesh would be installed. Happy Modeling! David Cutting
Next up is our new MoPac spark arrestors. They are based on attempted stack models by others and prototype photos. They are available on our shapeways shop (http://shpws.me/vuGU) as 16 packs (4 locomotives) for $11.99 Next up: Got any ideas? Make some suggestions! Happy Modeling! David Cutting
Next up is an update to the RS36 conversion kit. Instead of including just the sides of the locomotive, is is now an entire shell that includes all of the modifications necessary, including the new battery box sizes. The brand-new shell fits directly over the atlas/kato RS11, re-using the headlights, numberboards, brake wheel, sill, and cab. Radiator intakes, battery boxes, and smokestacks are of the correct form to match Ontario Midland #408. They are now available on our shapeways shop (http://shpws.me/qTxv) as a single shell for $29.99. Customers that have previously purchased the side-only version of this kit can get a discount, simply PM me. We haven't forgotten the Alco Hi-Ad trucks, we are just waiting on reference material. (still) Next up: Correct fuel tanks for the RS36! Happy Modeling! David Cutting
Hey Randy, My shapeways shop is here: https://www.shapeways.com/shops/cuttingedge My regular site is here: http://cescalemodels.wix.com/cesm Please excuse the mess on my sites. I am redoing all of the renders on my shapeways shop and beginning an overhaul of my other site. Happy Modeling! David Cutting
No UP can not take over a model railroad. I was thinking of patching all my UP locomotives like the were taken over by ATSF. And I like the idea for the replacement nose too!
David, I'm pretty sure Jerry meant N scale. I know I could use a few of the rectangular stacks for my N scale S-2 and S-4's. Thanks, Otto K.
